Boston Scientific learning Essentials
The primary challenge was to visualize and simplify Six Sigma concepts for easier learning. After understanding Boston Scientific Essentials, I brainstormed design ideas with the team and facilitated a strategy that recommended a superior production approach.
From my experience, the letter-sized prints the team initially requested would likely be discarded quickly. I envisioned a more durable and impactful training solution. I contacted local print-publishing companies, obtained quotes, and created a prototype of a multi-folded book for the team to review. My proposal included tab-separated chapters, thick glossy paper, and spiral binding to ensure durability, ease of use, and value. This idea resonated strongly with key stakeholders, generating excitement and anticipation of fostering long-term engagement with the target audience.
Over several years, I designed multiple Essentials guidebooks, including layouts, illustrations, iconography, and both printed and digital materials. I also created a visual identity system for the Essentials series to ensure a cohesive style, managed vendor outsourcing, and oversaw print proofs. Ultimately, these training guidebooks were distributed to 12,000 Boston Scientific employees and locations worldwide.
